Fasting & Test Preparation

Fasting means you must not consume any food, tea, coffee, juice, milk, or alcohol for 10 to 12 hours prior to giving your blood sample at the laboratory. Plain water is allowed and encouraged to keep you well hydrated.

Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Lipid Profile (Cholesterol & Triglycerides), Insulin Fasting, Iron Studies, and certain metabolic wellness packages strictly require 10-12 hours fasting. Tests like CBC, HbA1c, Thyroid Profile (TSH), and Vitamin D3 do not require strict fasting.

You can usually take routine blood pressure or cardiac medications with water, unless specifically instructed otherwise by your physician. For Thyroid tests (T3/T4/TSH), it is advisable to give the blood sample before taking your morning thyroid tablet.

Samples are collected in our clean, dedicated phlebotomy stations by certified technicians using sterile, single-use vacuum collection tubes and precision needles ensuring a painless experience.

Every patient is assigned a unique barcode generated on-site. The barcode is affixed to your sample tubes in your presence and electronically scanned by our automated analyzers, eliminating any possibility of manual sample misidentification.
